The Halcyon armada has lifted the Cosmic Cube into deep space with New York still inside. Just as they are about to start cutting it open, two unmanned Acheron Skywhales which were hidding in the sun, manage to teleport New York to the planet Acheron.

Johnny Storm goes outside to find out whats going on and finds Thanos's army lying in wait. The Fantastic Four go and take the fight to Thanos. As the battle goes on The Thing in enveloped in a yellow light and seemingly killed.

Thanos calls a cease fire and calls a one-on-one battle of minds over ownership of the cube. Thanos calls up a memory of Reed's father beating him with a belt and as Reed passes out he takes the Cosmic Cube and turns Reed to stone.
